Editing Grids

Perhaps one of the most overlooked tools within OrderWise, the grid editing function is a powerful way to bring up relevant information, quickly and easily. It is found by right-clicking whichever grid you are in and selecting ‘edit grid’. You can then select from a multitude of fields to display within that grid.

This is something that I’ve found to be extremely useful during my Support training at Orderwise, and it’s a tool that I always use. For me, it’s possibly the most useful way of gathering information, quickly and easily. In terms of Support, it’s a function that some clients often don’t utilise fully.

As a client, you may be in the Product Transactions screen and wish to see how much of a product’s unit cost is made up of a delivery cost, giving you a more relevant ‘landed’ cost. You can edit the grid to bring through theĀ  ‘Shipping Cost’ and ‘Net Cost GBP’. This can then be viewed against each product transaction, as seen below:

Here, we have edited the grid to show not only a product's Net Cost, but also its shipping cost.

Grid edits can be used in any grid, to display a variety of information, be it customer, supplier or product-specific. It’s really as simple as that!
